On Friday, a structure under construction in Jalingo, Taraba state, collapsed, killing one laborer and trapping many more.
The facility, which is located across from the Taraba State Polytechnic Jalingo gate, is claimed to be owned by Uche Obi, a Taraba-based businessman.
The building was on the first floor of construction when the tragedy occurred while the laborers were at work, according to the Nigerian Tribune.
Mr Obi, who trades in building materials, is currently involved in a legal struggle with the Standard Organization of Nigeria at the high court in Jalingo over the alleged sale of inferior building materials, according to reports.
Security and Civil Defence Corps personnel and police officers were seen at the area attempting to free the trapped workers.
