Another bomb found in Kaduna community

On Friday, April 1, another improvised explosive device (IED) was discovered in the Shanono area of the Rigasa community in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna state.

The explosive was discovered just 24 hours after an IED hidden in a bucket was discovered in the neighborhood and detonated by the state anti-bomb team with no casualties.

Children in the village discovered the IED in a jerrycan covered in black nylon and kept extremely close to a stream in the community, according to a resident, Tijjani Umar.

Umar said;

“It was kept at the same spot where the Thursday IED was discovered. We don’t know what is happening in this community. It was my elder’s brother wife that rushed to inform me that the children found another bomb inside Jerrycan”

Spokesman of the State Police Command, ASP Mohammed Jalige who confirmed the discovery, urged people to be more vigilant wherever they are in the state.

Jalige said;

“The area has been cordoned off so as to protect the people from getting hurt while our men are there to defuse the device”
