Son Hired Assassin To Kill His Father Over Inheritance

The Niger State Police Command has arrested Abubakar Mohammed Buba, a 25-year-old man, for reportedly paying his buddy Aliyu Mohammed N110,000 to kill his father, Alhaji Mohammed Buba, so that he could inherit his father’s inheritance.

DSP Wasiu Abiodun, the command’s spokesman, stated in a statement that the suspect was apprehended by the Chanchaga division on December 29, 2021 in the Chanchaga region of Minna.

“The suspect was arrested on suspicion of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide in the death of his father, Alhaji Mohammed Buba, 52.” On October 13, 2021, the deceased was allegedly attacked and stabbed to death in his home in Korokpan, Paikoro LGA,” he stated in the statement.

During interrogation, the suspect admitted to conspiring with his companion, who is currently at large, to murder the dead, according to Abiodun.

According to a police official, the suspect took officers to Tagwai-Dam, where the deceased’s body was dumped after being severed and placed in a sack.

“He also admitted to contracting the said Mohammed for a sum of N110,000, of which he paid a N50,000 deposit and then paid the remaining N60,000 after selling some of the deceased’s properties to raise the balance.”
