Official- Manchester united sack Ole Gunnar Solksjaer, to pay him £7.5m severance fee

Following Manchester United’s devastating 4-1 away defeat by Watford on Saturday, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was fired as manager.

Solskjaer, a United legend, has been in charge for nearly three years, but following humiliating losses to Liverpool and Man City despite having top players Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, and Raphael Varane in the squad, pressure on his position began to mount.

Due to the fact that Solksjaer signed a new three-year contract in June, the club hierarchy met early Sunday morning, November 21, and agreed to split ways with him and pay him a £7.5 million severance compensation.

Manchester United wrote on its social media platforms:

‘Manchester United can confirm that Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has left his role as manager. Thank you for everything Ole.’
