Davido, a Nigerian singer, has been praised for donating N250 million to orphanages around the country.
Obi Cubana, a well-known Nigerian businessman, and Dele Momodu, a senior media figure, praised the musician for his generosity on Saturday.
After fans and colleagues donated him over N200 million for his birthday, the musician stated that he would contribute N250 million to orphans across Nigeria.
Obi Cubana, who was one of the celebs that gave money to Davido, praised him on Instagram in response to his move.
“Davido contributes $250 million to orphanages!” Obi Cubana said. Do you understand what we’re talking about? A king is a king forever!
“We all rise by lifting others! It’s not about how much we have but having the mind to help when and where we can! Together, we can all make the world a better place! Thank you King David for impacting the world positively. Thank you!”
Momodu, whose niece, Sophia, has a child for Davido, also hailed the singer, saying, “Well done King David; a phenomenal influence well utilised.”
Referring to Davido as her cousin, Nollywood actress, Wumi Toriola, said, “Blood is thicker than water. Davido, my own man of the year. My cousin to the world. Queen lateefah’s lineage. I hate to boast about fam but it is what it is. Love and light.” (sic)
Indigenous gospel singer, Yinka Ayefele, said, “This is why I love this young man, @davido, he stands out. The wisdom of God will never depart from you my dear brother.”
Asides celebrities, fans have also hailed the singer for his philanthropic act.
