A fire in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, has resulted in the destruction of two automobiles.
A petroleum tanker allegedly burst into flames Thursday night in Ibadan’s Agodi gate neighborhood, just a few meters from the Nigerian Television Authority’s Ibadan Zonal headquarters (NTA).
According to sources, the tanker carrying Premium Motor Spirit crashed and caught fire.
When the truck went up in flames, it was reported that some automobiles parked nearby caught fire.
Mr Ismail Adeleke, Director of Operations, Oyo State Fire Services, confirmed the occurrence.
His men were able to put out the fire around 11 p.m. on Thursday, he said. Nigerian Cleaning Services
He went on to say that the truck lost control and crashed into the road, spilling its contents.
He stated that two automobiles had been destroyed.
He stated that no one was killed as a result of the incident.
“The fire started in the tanker’s engine compartment, and the driver panicked and leapt out of the moving truck when he saw the raging flames.”
