Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr ‘set to be sacked’ after 5 years

Gernot Rohr, the coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, is expected to be fired after five years when the NFF meets to make a decision.

This follows Nigeria’s 1-1 tie with Cape Verde, which qualified the Eagles for the play-offs. Many fans and stakeholders were outraged by the match, prompting the NFF to intervene.

The continuing meeting, according to Vanguard, is to allow the NFF to contact Rohr’s replacement and settle on his remuneration.

In August 2016, Rohr was named head coach of the Super Eagles, and he guided them to a third-place finish at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
