Grace Utobuiro, a 200-level Actuarian Science student at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), has won the third edition of the 4 – Inch – High Heel Race competition held at the NIS pitch of the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos, for a whopping sum of N200,000.
Grace, who is 21 years old, won the one-day 100-meter dash event after defeating 14 other competitors.
During the heats, she had easy runs, but in the final, she was up against great competition from Favourite Eluwa and Zainab Ayinla, who had to settle for second and third place, respectively.
Utobuiro received N200,000 in addition to gifts, while Eluwa and Ayinla each received N150,000 and N100,000 in addition to gifts.
Elder Dede Agwu Kalu, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of DMS Limited, said he was impressed by the turnout and the high level of competitiveness displayed by the participants, pledging his continued commitment to the competition and expressing his hope to expand it to other states of the federation and other African countries.
He said the sport-tainment is about women being smart on heels when they wear them. He said: “It is absolutely necessary for ladies to wear high heel because it gives them a unique look and brings out the elegance in them.
