On Tuesday, October 12, an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court ruled that Sunday Anthony, 52, be remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Centre for allegedly raping his 17-year-old daughter.
Anthony, who lives at No. 7, Ibro St., Yewa Estate, Isawo Road, Agric Ikorodu, Lagos, has been charged with rape.
Following a motion by the Prosecutor, ASP Victor Eruada, that the matter be referred to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice, Magistrate M.O. Tanimola issued the order.
The prosecutor was also ordered by the magistrate to duplicate the file and transmit it to the DPP for review.
The lawsuit was postponed until November 12th.
Earlier, Eruada said that Anthony committed the offence sometime in January and March at his residence
The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of Section 260 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015 which stipulates life imprisonment on conviction.
