Joe Igbokwe, the leader of the All Progressives Congress, believes that in the 2023 presidential election, an Igbo candidate cannot be trusted.
Nobody, he claims, will vote for someone who will exploit the same position to divide Nigeria.
In a PUNCH Live interview on Thursday, Igbokwe, who is an advisor to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, revealed this.
He stated that the geopolitical zone of the South-East has been subjected to “injustices,” adding that “we get the least” in “all we share in this country.”
As a result, he requested President Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) to enable the creation of one more state, bringing the total number of states in the South-East to six, similar to the other geopolitical zones in Nigeria.
Anambra, Imo, Enugu, Abia, and Ebonyi are the states now in the zone.
Despite the “injustices,” the lawmaker highlighted on the PUNCH Live program that violent agitations and killings were not the way to strive for justice, equity, and fairness.
