Dave Umahi, the governor of Ebonyi state, has stated that his state will never be a part of Biafra because of the marginalization and slavery faced by its people at the hands of other Igbos.
He made the statement on Wednesday in response to charges that Ebonyi indigenes were behind the deadly attacks that ravaged Anambra ahead of the state’s gubernatorial elections.
According to reports, members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in Ebonyi state were behind the Anambra attacks as they attempted to press their secessionist agitations for Biafra further.
“If any Ebonyi person is discovered in killing, that person should be murdered as well,” Umahi said of the claim.
He then added that Ebonyi people will never be part of Biafra.
“Ebonyi will never be part of Biafra because of the marginalisation and slavery that Ebonyi people had been subjected to over the years by their South East brothers” he said.
