Boris Johnson has made substantial changes to his Cabinet, removing a number of senior ministers from his top staff.
After Covid-19 dominated his first two years in office, the Prime Minister grabbed the opportunity for a long-awaited change of his top team, as well as the direction of his government.
Mr Johnson’s restructuring was more thorough than predicted, with some high-ranking officials being transferred about or fired.
Gavin Williamson, the Education Secretary, was the first to be removed from the government, while Dominic Raab, the Foreign Secretary, was demoted but given a new title of Deputy Prime Minister.
Liz Truss and Michael Gove both got promotions – and go figure.
