A suspected notorious car thief has been apprehended by Katsina State Police command for allegedly stealing a Hilux pick-up vehicle belonging to the Katsina State Government.
The suspect, Hayatu Bashir, stole the vehicle that was packed inside a mosque at GRA during last Friday’s Jumat service, according to the command’s spokesperson, SP Gambo Isah, who revealed this on Monday, September 13.
According to the PPRO, the vehicle belonged to the Katsina State Standing Committee on Farmers/Herders Relationship Improvement in Katsina State.
He allegedly stole the vehicle from GRA in the state capital and drove it to Malumfashi town in the Malumfashi Local Government Area of the state.
He was allegedly about to cut the vehicle into pieces in order to sell it as parts when a police team swoooped on him and arrested him.
