Nicki Minaj is defending herself vehemently after announcing that she will not be getting the COVID-19 vaccine until she has done enough research.
After posting an explanation for her absence from the Met Gala, which required all guests to be immunized, Nicki spent nearly all of Monday night responding to tweets. If she gets vaccinated, she said “It isn’t going to be for the Met. It’ll be when I’m satisfied that I’ve done enough research. I’m currently working on it.”
Then, approximately 20 minutes later, she sent out the tweet that is still causing a stir on social media today. Nicki claims that her cousin in Trinidad would not receive the vaccine because “His pal was infected and became impotent as a result. His testicles swelled up.” She further stated that “His pal was set to marry in a few weeks, but the girl has since called off the wedding. So just pray about it and make sure you’re comfortable with your decision rather than feeling pressured.”
Nicki isn’t happy that anecdote is getting all the attention. She’s pointing out that her detractors are ignoring her previous tweets urging people to get vaccinated, wear masks, and be safe.
