Mumini Olanipekun, a supplier of locally brewed liquor known as Ogogoro, has been arrested after reporting himself to the police for stabbing one of his clients, Wale, to death after a quarrel at his bar in Ifon Orolu, Osun State, on Monday, September 13.
Wale had gone to the tavern to patronize Mumini, according to eyewitnesses. They got into a heated debate that turned into a brawl. Mumini allegedly stabbed Wale in the neck and stomach with a shattered bottle during the operation. Wale was believed to be gasping for air and dying on the way to the hospital when he passed away.
Yemisi Opalola, a spokesperson for the state police command, confirmed the event and said the suspect had been taken into custody while the investigation was underway.
