A crew member on the production of an upcoming Netflix film starring Kevin Hart and Mark Wahlberg suffered a catastrophic fall, requiring paramedics to use a defibrillator to restore a heartbeat.
According to LAFD sources, paramedics were dispatched to Sunset Gower Studios shortly after 7 a.m. for a “long fall.”
According to a fire department source, a 38-year-old man fell 60-80 feet from a catwalk and did not appear to be wearing a safety gear; he suffered fractures to his legs and arms. According to a production source, the fall was around 30 feet.
According to our fire department sources, the man had no pulse when paramedics arrived, and on-set medical staff were performing CPR. To get a heartbeat, LAFD first responders utilized a defibrillator several times. According to a fire department spokesman, his status was “grave” when they arrived, but after they found a heartbeat, it was upgraded to “critical.”
The victim was brought to a nearby hospital, where he or she is currently being treated, according to a production source. We don’t know how he’s doing right now.
