Following an attack on a military base in Zamfara State on Saturday, at least 12 military officers are believed to be dead.
At about 10:30 a.m., the bandits stormed a military base in Mutumji, Dansadau, roughly 80 kilometers south of Gusau, according to reports.
The 12 people killed were nine Nigerian Air Force officers, two police officers, and one Nigerian Army soldier, according to reports.
All of the slain personnel were evacuated to Yerima Bakura Specialist Hospital in Gusau, according to a source who requested anonymity. The three wounded were treated at a brigade medical facility.
The assailants also took guns from the slain service members and set fire to the facility’s other equipment.
There was no confirmation from the Nigerian Army or other security services at the time of writing the news.
