Alhaji Ahmed Abdulkadir, a former director of the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC), and his 15-year-old daughter, Laila, have been kidnapped by bandits.
Around 9 p.m. on Monday, September 6, bandits wielding AK-48 rifles raided Bakori Housing Units in Bakori Local Government Area of the state, kidnapping a father and daughter from their home.
The bandits also kidnapped three more people, according to Daily Trust: Alhaji Bello Aminu Bakori, Shamsuddeen Aminu, and one Habibu Rabe of the Bakori Local Education Authority.
However, approximately an hour after the kidnapping, local vigilantes mobilized and pursued them.
The local guards reportedly caught up with the armed men in Danja Local Government Area and after an exchange of gunfire, three victims were said to have regained freedom.
However, Abdulkadir and his daughter are said to still be in captivity.
