Military Officer Plants Drug in Brother’s House, Reports to NDLEA

Anayo Nwamban, a military officer, was arrested by National Drug Law Enforcement Agency agents for reportedly trying to implicate his brother.

In a statement released on Sunday, an NDLEA spokeswoman, Femi Babafemi, said Nwamban reported himself to the agency after placing a narcotic in his brother’s home.

However, after the drug dealer was apprehended, the truth came to light.

“In Ebonyi State, a military officer, Anayo Nwamban, was detained on Friday, September 3 after buying 1.1 kilogrammes of cannabis from Mami market, planting it in his elder brother’s residence, and then making a report to the NDLEA office with the intention of incriminating his brother,” Babafemi stated. After his supplier was apprehended, he acknowledged to buying the drugs and putting them in his brother’s home.”

Arnold Maniru, a 22-year-old member of the National Youth Service Corps, was also arrested, according to the official, for allegedly importing four kilogrammes of poisoned candies from the United Kingdom.

“A youth corps member working for a government agency in Abuja was arrested on Saturday, August 28, 2021, after a package was intercepted at a transport company’s warehouse.

“Thereafter, a controlled delivery of the parcel was carried out, which contained the candies laced with Arizona, a strong version of cannabis, and some liquid,” he added.
