On Monday, August 30, a deadly car accident occurred in Nasarawa Doka, along the Kaduna-Abuja road in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The incident involving a Toyoto Hiace bus was caused by brake failure, according to State Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs Samuel Aruwan, who revealed this in a statement on Monday, August 30.
“Security agencies have reported to the Kaduna State Government that 12 people have perished and six others have been injured as a result of a horrific road traffic accident that occurred on Monday afternoon in Nasarawa Doka, along the Kaduna-Abuja route in Kachia LGA,” he said.
“A lone Toyota Hiace bus carrying 18 passengers from Zaria to Abuja was involved in the accident. The cause of the accident was determined to be a braking failure caused by a tyre explosion. On the spot, twelve passengers died. The six injured passengers were sent to the hospital right away.”
Governor Nasir El-Rufai, according to Aruwan, expressed regret over the story and his condolences to the relatives of the victims, as well as offering prayers for their souls to rest in peace. He wished the injured individuals a speedy recovery.
