Ladeji Kelvin Babatunde has been detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
After allegedly collecting over N38,000,000 from suspected internet scammers, he was apprehended.
Babatunde had boasted that he would stop the commission from arresting them.
According to an EFCC statement posted on Facebook, the defendant pretended to be an operative in order to commit the crime.
“A four-bedroom unfinished flat was retrieved from him on Ikola Road, Alagbado, Lagos, which was developed using the proceeds of the fraud,” it adds.
After the inquiry is completed, Babatunde will be charged in court.
