Gabriel Uzoma, a Nigerian, nearly avoided an assassination attempt after his jilted lover, Victory Kelechi Joseph, allegedly paid suspected assassins in military uniforms to assault his Lagos home.
According to reports, armed men broke into a house on Uwagboe Street in Lagos’ Ipaja neighborhood.
Uzoma had narrowly escaped when the shooters raided the house hunting for him, and he had not returned home. Emmanuel Eldon and Austine Alfred, however, were viciously assaulted at gunpoint.
They smashed Uzoma’s television and took his work equipment, which included computers, a Canon camera, and N555,000 in cash.
Police, however, during investigations, trailed and arrested, Kelechi, who confessed to hiring the four armed men. She added that they gave her N20,000 out of the loot.
According to Kelechi, Uzoma had sent her packing even though she had pleaded with him to allow her stay after the break up. He, however, refused because his friend was already living with him.
