The widow of Alhaji Rabe Bello Kofa, the previous chief of Kofa village in Katsina State’s Kusada Local Government Area, has been kidnapped by bandits.
The kidnappers assaulted the community in the early hours of Wednesday, according to a resident who requested anonymity.
They rushed immediately to the village head’s house, where he died on Tuesday, and kidnapped some members of the devastated family, including his widow, he added.
“The village head of Kofa, who was the elder brother of a former Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, died on Tuesday and was buried in line with Islamic customs the same day.”
“Unfortunately, some gunmen broke into the house and kidnapped roughly five members of the family, including the deceased’s wife, although they eventually freed four of them while holding the widow captive. She is still with them as we speak,” he stated.
