Blessing Kalu, a first-class final-year student at the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, was killed by a truck in Umudike Oboro, Abia State’s Ikwuano Local Government Area.
The victim, a native of Nkporo in Abia State’s Bende LGA, had ridden her motorcycle to a gas station to fill up her cylinder with cooking gas and was returning home when the tragedy occurred.
The driver of the motorcycle Kalu boarded was on the edge of overtaking the truck when the tragedy occurred, according to eyewitnesses. She was knocked out and began to struggle to breathe. She was transported to the hospital and pronounced dead there.
Last Friday, Kalu, who bagged a first-class in Entrepreneurial Studies, completed her final exams. She went to church for thanksgiving on Sunday, August 22nd, and sadly died on Monday, August 23rd. Her body was taken to the mortuary and deposited there.
