Two Women Arrested With 390 Wraps of Indian Hemp in Delta (Photo)

Two women were caught with 390 wraps of suspected Indian hemp by the Delta Police Command.

Hope Azion, 25, and Joy Okorie, 21, both from Erovie Quarters, Ozoro, in the state’s Isoko North Local Government Area, were detained on July 28, 2021.

DSP Bright Edafe, the command’s acting spokeswoman, said in a statement on Friday, July 30, that the suspects were apprehended in their hideout during a police raid, with the drug hidden in a nylon bag.

“On the 28th of July, 2021, at around 2000 hours, the Divisional Police Officer Ozoro raided criminal hideouts at Erovie quarte as part of preventive measures to checkmate criminals/cult activities and also to curb the drug menace in the Command, the Divisional Police Officer Ozoro raided criminal hideouts at Erovie quarters, OzorO, as part of preventive measures to checkmate criminals/cult activities and to also curb the drug menace in the Command.”

“During the raid, two suspects were arrested: Hope Azion ‘f’ 25yrs old of Erovie quarters Ozoro and Joy Okorie ‘f’ 21yrs old of the same address. They were found with a nylon bag containing 390 wraps of weeds presumed to be cannabis Sativa. The investigation is still going on.”
