Ganiyat AbdulRaheem, 30, was detained by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command, for allegedly stealing a bundle of garments worth half a million naira.
Mr Babawale Afolabi delivered a statement in Ilorin on Wednesday confirming this.
The suspect, according to Afolabi, committed the crime on July 15 at Ago Market in llorin.
“On July 18, our office received a theft report.
It was forwarded to the command’s Intelligence and Investigation Unit for additional investigation.
“Fortunately, the complainant caught the culprit and handed him over to the corps’ patrol squad, Operation Harmony,” Afolabi said.
He went on to say that a tricycle driver named Abdulahi Soliu, who was allegedly an accomplice to the suspect, had also been apprehended.
Both the suspect and her accomplice were interviewed at the NSCDC headquarters in Ilorin, according to him.
He went on to say that the investigation into the issue was completed, and that the suspects would appear in front of a Magistrate’s Court following the Eid-el-Kabir holiday.
