Ten people were killed in a deadly auto accident involving a commercial passenger bus and a parked log carrying truck in Kanbi, Moro Local Government Area, Kwara State.
As a result of accused overspeeding, the Toyota commercial Hiace bus, registered XC 157 SMK, collided with the stationary truck.
Jonathan Owoade, Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, confirmed the collision, stating the bus driver was unharmed.
“Ten of the passengers died on the spot,” according to the report, while the 18-passenger bus driver and other survivors were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
“The bus was coming from Minna, heading to Offa, but it rammed into a stationary log carrying-truck which had broken down on the road.”
The corpses of the victims have been deposited at University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital morgue.
