Nigerians denied visa on or after Jan 20, 2020, due to Trump ban can reapply for free — US

The United States Department has announced that most US visa applicants, who were denied visas because of former President Donald Trump’s travel embargo on 13 mainly Muslim-majority and African countries, can seek new decisions or proceed with new applications.

President Joe Biden reversed Trump’s travel prohibition on his first day in office, Jan 20 2020.

On Monday, March 8, 2021, the US State Department spokesman, Ned Price, announced that applicants who were denied visas before Jan. 20, 2020, should proceed with new applications and pay a new application fee.

Reuters report announced that, Price advised those who were rejected on or after Jan. 20, 2020, to seek reconsideration without re-submitting their applications and do not have to pay extra fees.
