Two young men killed, 2 ladies injured as gunmen open fire at beer parlour in Rivers community

Two young men were reportedly shot dead by gunmen suspected to be cultists at the Luubara community in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State.

An indigene of Luubara, Nwibani Barry, who confirmed the incident said the gunmen raided the community at about 8 pm on Tuesday, December 29, and proceeded to a beer parlor near the market square where they opened fire on the revelers.

Nwibani revealed that the victims, Timothy Baridapdo and Bariyaa, died on the spot while two ladies, who sustained gunshot injuries, were taken to the hospital by the Divisional Police Officer of Bori Division.

Sources in the community told newsmen that the gunmen were rival cult gangs who were on a reprisal mission.

Meanwhile friends have taken to Facebook to mourn the deceased. See posts below…
