A carpenter allegedly stabbed his partner to death and then “cruelly” posted a picture of her body on a family chat group used by her father, sister and nieces.
Yi Xing Song, 54, was incarcerated for life for killing mum-of-two Li Qing Wang, 35, who he thought was seeing another man.
However, the Chinese national reportedly stabbed his partner 22 times with a 6in knife at the terraced house they shared in Leyton, east London, on February 25.
Thereafter, he posted an image of her body on a WeChat group, the Chinese equivalent to Whatsapp, which was used by members of Ms Wang’s family prompting her sister in China to ask for help.
On Tuesday, Song pleaded guilty to Ms Wang’s murder and was jailed for life with a minimum term of 19 years.
Furthermore, the Old Bailey heard Ms. Wang’s son Xudong Wang had been studying for a master’s degree at Cambridge University but had to take a year off after her murder.
Sentencing, Judge John Hillen told Song: “You have not only taken her life away from her but caused grief and loss to those who loved and cared for her.
