Brig. Gen. Abdul Khalifa, the General Officer Commanding, 7 Division of the Nigerian Army, led Special Forces troops to stop Boko Haram terrorist in Borno state on Sunday.
The soldiers engaged with Boko Haram terrorists during a routine patrol along Mainok to Jakana road in Kaga local government area of Borno state.
Immediately, the terrorists were sighted, Khalifa command they should be shot at, according to a soldier who took part in the operation.
“We laid ambush for Boko Haram fighters following intelligence report that some of them were fleeing after an air raid were scores of them were murdered on Saturday,” the source added.
“Our commander asked us to charge at them and we bombarded them with shots. They flee leaving behind one of their gun trucks.”
