When their boat capsized in Lagos, first responders, including LASWA officials, managed to save the lives of seventeen people.
In a statement, LASWA Management stated that the event happened early on February 20, 2023, close to the Third Mainland Bridge.
The statement added, “On February 20, 2023, at around 7 am, a commercial passenger boat called Fazma logistics, carrying 17 passengers, departed Ikorodu ferry terminal at precisely 6:45 am en route Ebute Ero but regrettably capsized around Third mainland bridge close to Bariga ferry terminal.”
“All the passengers were rescued alive by first responders including officers of the Lagos State Waterways Authority LASWA. Boat recovery operations commenced immediately while the boat captain is been interrogated and investigation is on going.”
